Be Still and enjoy doing Nothing

Why does it feel like there is pressure to always be achieving something, and if we are not, we feel like failures.

I think that is unfair, and no one should feel that it is not Ok to just do nothing, with so much social media, video’s and live streaming, it feels like we are expected to be doing something all the time.

Maybe you just want to sit and watch movies all day, browse through instagram or facebook stories aimlessly, maybe just lie outside and soak up the sun and stare into nothingness, and I ask, why not ?

Don’t get easily influenced by what you are reading, what people are posting and doing, enjoy their moment, like their posts and move on with a smile. Don’t feel you need to compete, or just because you didn’t workout that day and you are know watching or reading something about exercise, that you should get up and go do it because you are now feeling guilty.

It is Ok, not to always exercise, be reading a book, doing yoga or trying to figure out how you are feeling, baking, learning a new language, or doing an online course, unless you really feel like doing it. It is different if that is what you really want to do, because it will make a world of difference to how much you are going to be enjoying it and applying yourself. If you are just doing it, out of guilt or pressure, then you will just end up feeling more miserable and hating yourself for doing it, and quite frankly not even enjoying it.

Just be still, enjoy the moment you are in, and do what feels necessary to you on that day, the day you woke up and decided this is what I feel or don’t feel like doing today, and then stick to it, set that as your goal for your day. We put so much pressure on ourselves when we set ourselves goals, and they can just be so simple and so enjoyable.

Tomorrow brings a new feeling, a new thought, a new attitude to how you are feeling towards life, and when you go with that intuition, you will fully enjoy what your body and mind are aligned to be doing on that particular day or moment. You will feel more focused, energized, and you will achieve more of your goal.

Don’t feel bad because you are not doing what the rest of the world is doing at that moment.

The moment is about YOU, so sit back, and appreciate what you are feeling and be in touch with the energy around you.
