Ordinary Reality
This is the world we live in. It is the physical reality of our five senses. It is the world that we describe through our chemistry and physics, the conscious mind and faith. In this reality, there is separateness: a beginning and an end; a cause and an effect.
Non-Ordinary Reality
Coined by Carlos Casteneda, Non-ordinary reality is the world of spirit. It is the world of dreams, spirits and intuition. It is where all things are conscious. It is the place of “no time” where the past, present and future all exist and are accessible. It is the place where thoughts, feelings and emotions create our physical reality and is the spirit mirror of our ordinary reality. In this place, all is connected and related. It is a place of symbolism. The Shaman “journeys” to non-ordinary reality to access the information contained therein. He then uses this data to help facilitate healing in ordinary reality.
Path to healing
Shamanism, specifically the shamanic journey, is used primarily for divination and healing. Shamans utilize the journeying techniques to study with their individual spirit teachers in non-ordinary reality. During the journey, the shaman can gain knowledge and insight from Spirit Guides as to what is necessary to restore spiritual power, and heal oneself, others, and the Planet.

Ho'oponopono

What is Ho’oponopono?
Ho’oponopono is a simple yet effective healing process that has been used by the Hawaiians for thousands of years. The goal of Ho’oponopono can be found by breaking down the term: ho’o – to make, do, create; pono – balance, goodness, correctness, perfect order
Ho’oponopono – a method of creating perfect order and balance in order to heal a situation
Through discussion, prayer, honesty, ceremony, and forgiveness, Ho’oponopono offers the ability to heal on mental, intra-personal, physical, temporal, and spiritual levels. Ho’oponopono also helps you to reconnect with your family (ohana as the Hawaiians call it), loved ones, and those with which you are/have been in connection, including the Divine.

Have compassion for the spirit, too.

The scenario goes like this…

A team of inquisitive explorers enter an area where there have been reports of ghosts, specters, apparitions, or other paranormal activities. The investigators use multiple technologies and intuition in an attempt to communicate with the unseen entities. Throughout their time on site, they capture evidence of the entities that is then presented to the caretakers of the area along with presenting the findings to a digital audience glued to their seats in search of validation of the paranormal. After the reveal, the team leaves the area and moves on to the next.

Sound familiar?

To some experiencing the investigation, and definitely to the trained psychopomp, a question surfaces, “What about the entity?” The team did a great job collecting evidence to support the presence of one or more entities at the location, yet, in most cases, nothing is done to support the entity in moving on. Sometimes, it is reinforced to the caretaker that the entities are there but are benevolent. This may be comforting to the caretaker, but the spirit/entity is still, essentially, trapped in the location with no support to transition to the reality, dimension, or home in which it belongs.

The is where the psychopomp can help.

According to Merriam-Webster, a psychopomp shepherds souls to the afterworld ( https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/psychopomp). Although this is a good, high-level definition of this work, the services of a psychopomp go beyond these facts. The psychopomp uses the skills learned through training and practice to communicate with spirits to facilitate the identification of and transition to the place which will welcome and contribute to each spirit. To clarify this, it is good to provide a basis of how a psychopomp conceptualizes a spirit.

There are two primary types of entities that are commonly associated with producing paranormal events: deceased humans and non-human beings. When these entities inhabit a location, it is often called a haunting. When a living person is the host for the entity, the person is said to be possessed. Haunted locations can be tourist attractions; however, the possession of a living human can be a nightmare and violation of one’s personal space. In both cases, it is important to treat the caretakers and the entities with compassion.

For the deceased human, in a psychopomp worldview, a human is made up on one or more soul parts. When a physical body dies, these parts are released to return to the soul’s place origin. Depending your cosmology, this origin is known as Valhalla, Heaven, Minoo, Nalani, Elysium, Zion, Pacha, Duat, Vyraj, Rarohenga, Hades, Kur, and many others. Normally, the soul essence of the deceased effortlessly transitions to the cosmological thoughtform best fitting their knowledge. Sometimes, however, the soul gets a bit lost and remains in the confines known during life. This can manifest in multiple ways including an intelligent haunting where the spirit is conscious of the physical world and residual haunting where the spirit goes through daily life repeating patterns learned over a lifetime. It is also possible that the spirit will attempt to inhabit a living person to help it navigate this world. In all cases, all or part of a person’s soul is still present on the physical plane one, ten, hundreds, or even thousands of years after death of the physical body. So, one must ask, “Would you want to wander as a spirit in a world governed by physical laws or venture on to your next existence?” There is no right answer to this question. It is just the question that rarely gets asked during the paranormal investigations.

When a non-human entity is present during the supernatural inquiry, there is a similar but slightly different situation. The non-human spirit has entered a world of wonder. Imagine experiencing our physical reality having no or limited understanding of the laws of physics on this planet or the sentient beings that roam it. It might be tempting to cause mischief just by doing what the entity is used to doing in its home realm. It could be viewed as a place where the spirit could rule the puny humans. It may be a space where the spirit can influence or possess the creatures like a puppet master. In these cases or the infinite other options, the non-human entity can wreak havoc on the area it roams.

Like in the case where the activity is caused by the spirit of a deceased human, the non-human spirit does not belong on this plane and the paranormal investigations team may not be equipped to facilitate the transition to a more suitable space. The team, occasionally, calls in an exorcist or other person to cleanse the energy. This can be a violent and scary situation where force is the primary weapon. There are other options.

As mentioned above, the psychopomp is adept at finding, communicating with, and shepherding spirits to a place that is more in line with the needs of the entity. Paradise normally fits to the human spirits and worlds incomprehensible to most for the non-human energies. By incorporating a trained psychopomp into the team, the paranormal researchers would be able to help not only the caretaker who put out the call for assistance, but also the spirit. If one does a basic internet search, there are cases in Maryland of hauntings that go back over 230 years. In England, locations like St. Briavals Castle and the Tower of London have documented reports of paranormal activities and hauntings going back hundreds of years. Possession of living beings by spirits, former humans and otherwise, is seen throughout history, sometimes, with drastic consequences. From a compassionate point of view, however, one can look at these instances and ask why the spirits have had to exist in this world for so long after death or how non-human spirits can be guided back to a place of contribution.

It is worth repeating that many locations use the paranormal activity associated with the spirits as a tourist draw. Again, one must ask, “Is this the afterlife you would want for yourself or your loved ones?” Calling in a psychopomp does not necessarily mean that the spirit will transition. It would just give the team and the caretakers the opportunity to ask the spirit if it wants to remain. This seems the least one can do to show compassion for an entity. For the non-human entities, the psychopomp offers the chance for the spirit to move to a more conducive location thereby removing any undue influence on this plane. All in all, the caretakers gain sovereignty over their area and the spirit finds compassion and, hopefully, their home.

A Shamanic View of Suffering

I wanted to chat a bit about some basic Shamanic concepts. Primarily, it is often the case that one experiences difficult situations when there is power loss. To define “power loss”, this is when some of your life force energy goes missing, like in soul loss, or situations where diet, toxins, or other environmental conditions diminishes your power. There can be negative power loss where something nefarious attacks a person and steals power. Also, power loss can also happen as a learning tool. For instance, if one needs to learn a life lesson, there may be suffering or hardship in one’s life.

All in all, the role of the shaman in these cases is to help to the person to regain his/her/their power. Once the power is returned, it is up to the person what happens with the power. This means that the suffering/hardship experienced may or may not ease. Back to my previous example, if the life lesson is to experience suffering, little may change once the power is restored. It just may be that the person is able to cope more effectively with the suffering. To an external observer applying the filter of their own expectations, the person will still be “suffering.”

This brings up a paradox: How can I ease one’s suffering if suffering is their lesson in life? To attempt to “take away” the suffering would, actually, take the power of the experience away from the person. In a way, it would be doing the same thing as the person who steals power, although not done nefariously.

Each culture tends to view the world through the filter of experience. What is suffering to one, is life to another. Imagine, if you will, what a person who lives on the land thinks of those who live in a city. City life could be viewed as “suffering.” So, when one sets out to “ease the suffering of [fill in the group/person here],” and the goal is to remove that suffering, you have to ask yourself, “Is that my place? Am I robbing the person/group of a teaching?”

An alternative I’ve seen and used is to offer your energy and support without the preconceived notion that there is suffering. In this way, the energy can be used to best contribute to the person/group. This may mean the suffering becomes more bearable…it may not. Either way, the person/group’s power is augmented by yours vs. trying to mold the situation into what you perceive as right or good.

For the non-shamanic practitioner, when you see a situation that you perceive as “suffering” and you want to help, is your goal to be the savior and remove the suffering, or are you there as a supporter contributing to the person?

Oneness Concepts

The goal of Oneness is to reconnect you with God, YHWH, Divine Source, Great Spirit – or the name that you use to describe the Universal Oneness that is the source of all – and to help you get back in touch with that Spirit. I say “back” because we are all born with that strong Oneness connection. We know this when we are children. Some very lucky people carry this knowledge with them throughout their whole life. However, many of us are “societized” out of it and live our lives in “duality” – right/wrong, good/bad, us/them.

The objective is for you to rediscover the grand plan for your life and to realize that you are not just out there flailing on your own. The Bible, in John 15:5, quotes Jesus as saying, “I am the vine and you are the branches.” This is a very powerful statement addressing the concept of Oneness. We are all part of the plant or complete entity. We cannot separate ourselves from the rest of the plant without dying. When we acknowledge our Oneness, we move from simply surviving (subsisting in a day-to-day existence of consuming nutrients, exhaling carbon dioxide and watching the world go by) to truly living.

There are many ways to achieve Oneness, through many different methods – for example: meditation, Shamanic journeying, healing modalities, practices of organized religions, etc.

The concepts and methods you will read about in this book are in no way a religion in the formal, accepted definition, although the ideas are addressed throughout various religions. I offer them as enhancements to your existing practices, whatever they may be.

Returning to Oneness with the Divine Source will allow you to grow and flourish with the knowledge that you are not alone. As your Oneness connection grows, you will consistently begin to recognize that the Divine Source is in all, both the “good” and the “bad.”

Excerpt from my book, My Journey Back to Oneness

Breath Journey

Come on a journey with me. It offers you the probability of experiencing healing on physical, mental and spiritual levels. This is a journey back to the place where we all started…a place of Oneness with the Divine Source. Are you interested?

As we begin this journey, I would like you to get comfortable. Take four deep breaths. In through the nose, holding your breath, then out through the mouth. I find that an inhale of four counts, holding for another four counts, an exhale of eight counts, then a slight pause works nicely.

This type of breathing exercise tells your mind, body and spirit that you are ready to do shamanic work. It also helps to connect your Lower and Middle selves to further establish the connection with your Upper self. In doing this breathing exercise, allow your diaphragm and chest to expand fully. Feel the air filling your lungs. Concentrate on your breath. Clear your mind of your daily clutter. As thoughts arise, acknowledge them, thank them for offering the information and then let them go.

Take your first breath as most of us normally do, just with our lungs. On your second breath, feel yourself breathing with your whole body from the top of your head to the tip of your toes. On your third breath, fill beyond your skin…your house…your town…country…and beyond the Earth into space. On your fourth breath, feel the connection with the Divine!

I’d like you to try this breathing exercise. Clear your mind…

In…hold…out…pause

In…hold…out…pause

In…hold…out…pause

In…hold…out…pause

Start with doing this exercise four times for several days. Then lengthen your practice in increments of four till you achieve 40, 400, 4000, and so on.

How do you feel?

What is Ho’oponopono?

Ho’oponopono is a simple yet effective healing process that has been used by the Hawaiians for thousands of years. The goal of Ho’oponopono can be found by breaking down the term:

ho’o – to make, do, create

pono – balance, goodness, correctness, perfect order

Ho’oponopono – a method of creating perfect order and balance in order to heal a situation

Through discussion, prayer, honesty, ceremony, and forgiveness, Ho’oponopono offers the ability to heal on mental, intra-personal, physical, temporal, and spiritual levels. Ho’oponopono also helps you to reconnect with your family (ohana as the Hawaiians call it), loved ones, and those with which you are/have been in connection, including the Divine.

The Ho’oponopono process operates under the concept of Oneness with everyone and everything. This Oneness is represented by a connection or aka, as the Hawaiians call it, that forms between two or more things when they come in contact (physical, mental, or spiritual.) Many of us have been taught cord cutting in one form or another as a way to facilitate healing by releasing unwanted connections. Basically, it involves releasing the connections between yourself and persons, places, or things. In its basic form, cord cutting can be quite effective. In many cases, however, people find that the cord is cut only temporarily. The situation can, and often does, return after the cut.

In the Hawaiian view, these connections are like telephone wires—one wire for transmitting your voice and another wire for receiving the voice on the other end. When you cut your transmit wire, there is still a connection that can be used to reconnect you to the issue. In Ho’oponopono, all parties (people, places, things, elementals….everything!) release their 2-way connection(s) to the situation, thereby making it very difficult for those connections to be rebuilt.

So, how does Ho’oponopono heal? The healing begins when we recognize that these connections that we’ve established, both in this lifetime and throughout our spiritual history, are not always supporting our highest good. In many cases, they draw down our energy stores and block our path. To understand how ho’oponopono can heal, it is important to know how the Hawaiians view blockages. To them, a blockage is a “piece of baggage” or “stone” that you are carrying that keeps you from fully healing. In VisionSeeker: Shared Wisdom from the Place of Refuge and in Tales from the Night Rainbow, the authors relate an ancient Hawaiian healing tradition of the accumulation of stones in a bowl that holds our life force (mana) energy. The stones represent instances when we have been jealous, judgmental, uncaring, cruel – in general, negative. The more stones we have, the less room there is for the light or life force. How do we get rid of these stones? Simply turn the bowl over and pour them out! This symbolic dumping of our old ways of thinking, issues, or wrongdoings removes the blockages to healing.

About Sekhmet
Sekhem (or Sekhmet) is an ancient Egyptian word that means “Universal Energy or Power”, roughly translated as “Power of Powers”. Sekhem in Egyptian hieroglyphs is symbolized by the scepter, and it represents the connection between Heaven and Earth.

...There are no other known energy systems that can compare with the high vibrational energy of Sekhem, nor does any other energy work at a deeper soul level. It also allows you to heal, and it helps your personality and spirituality, so you can find your soul’s purpose and unlock your full potential.

SEKHMET” was regarded as the Goddess of Healing, Protection, and Destruction of Illness.
For the Egyptians, magic was a normal part of everyday life. It was used in very formal religious rituals and was considered an integral part of medicine at all levels.

WHAT IS THE OPTIMUM NUMBER OF SESSIONS?
The traditional number of sessions is four. This tends to give you enough time to evaluate the benefits, if any, you are receiving.
When you are facing a serious illness, most people would suggest a series of four sessions completed in less than one week.

Writer's Block Shamanic Healing Session

Before the Session

I do my pre-meditation to find out the main reasons for your writer's block. (This happens psychically, where I generally just need your name, but a picture can help, too.)

It may be as simple as a deep rooted belief that once you write from your heart and really put your honest thoughts and fantacies out there, you will be harshly judged, not understood, criticised, unappreciated, ridiculed, laughed at, so on and so forth. It may have its origin in a trauma you have experienced in this life time or more than one lifetime. It could be a karmic cycle you're going through and maybe it's not the first life, where you struggle to be your true self and to express yourself freely.

Perhaps, it could be a belief that no matter how hard you try, you can never create a really good piece of writing. Perhaps, it's an issue of completing something. Perhaps, concerns over money and writing what sells (and not what is close to heart) that's the problem.

The above are just examples. I would need to meditate to see what your unique situation is.

Reading Part of the Session

In this part, I will let you know what I saw in my visions when I pre-meditated on your writer's block.

Healing Part of the Session

We will discuss the reading part of the session and wil find what traumas / reasons / habits / beliefs / etc. are available for healing. We may find the specific events, decisions or promises you made in the past that need to be revisited and changes made. With your permission, I will perform shamanic healing for those particular birth places of the limiting beliefs, fears and hurts that lie at the heart of why you are experiencing your writer's block.

This kind of healing is not only good for critical instances, where help is needed. If you are not experiencing writer's block at this time, this kind of healing can reveal issues you would benefit from healing and clearing to become even better at what you do, do release any fears, judgements, beliefs, limitation that may be hindering your writing at this time.

The goal of this healing session is to get you to feel safe and comfortable being your true authentic self, making your authentic decisions and taking bold steps in the persuit of freely and openly expressing your true self in a unique way, and doing it with pleasure, joy and peace.

Please write your questions, concerns and anything else you would like to know about this session in the comments below.

  • Please book your session a few days in advance because I need some time to meditate on your particular situation and understand for myself, what action steps can be taken for healing.
