Reading time less than 1 minute

Radiant skin can be spotted from any corner of the room. Not only does it look great, it feels great, too! When your skin is well-hydrated, smooth to the touch, and holds a natural glow, it can easily boost your skin-care standards.

But some skin-related issues could use a little more care

There are several things that dampen our skin’s condition: weather, nutrition, fabric, water intake, physical activity, moisturizing regimen, soap, medicated products, and the list goes on. This should not overwhelm you though. Most of the time, a routine will help to minimize the damage we wish would never occur. Dry and scaly skin, acne, and visible scars are just a few.

Massages have amazing effects on your skin

Massages are not a go-to solution for skin-related issues. However, it should be considered as a supplement to your routine. Here are 12 reasons why:

Massage helps to reduce tension in the skin and adjoining tissues. Massage can help to re-moisturize, and soften dry skin It increases the natural oils produced by your skin, making your skin more supple Remove dead skin cells, allowing better circulation to occur at the skin’s surface Your skin’s elasticity, or its ability to stretch and return to it’s normal condition, goes up Building off the last point, massages help women, especially those who are pregnant, to decrease stretch marks Your skin will be able to foster resistance to infection The nutrition brought to your skin cells increase, and encourages cell regeneration Your body’s production of sweat from sweat glands will increase, helping to get rid of waste products through the skin Your surface capillaries will open up, making your skin’s color and tone more vibrant Massages help reduce visible scar tissue It also assists in realigning scar tissue after surgery

The skin is the largest organ in our bodies, so we should pay extra attention to it’s condition. If this post tempts you to seek a massage for these benefits, consider one more thing.

Don’t forget to use the right oils

The oils you use during a massage should be carefully considered. Here is a quick guide to help you pick the oils that suit your skin type best:

Normal Skin: can benefit from almond, sunflower or sesame oil

Dry Skin: can benefit from apricot, avocado or wheat germ oil

Oily Skin: can benefit from hazelnut, peach or thistle oil
