About Lunga Mhlongo My name is Lunga Mhlongo, founder and creator of The Autism Wall. A website blog about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). My passion and true love is writing and sharing information. I have a son who suffers from a type of autism that is too complex even for medical people in my area. I come from a small town called Middleburg, Mpumalanga province in South Africa. And here, autism is still a distant-foreign language that even I didn't understand once upon a time. My autism journey was very long, lonely, and confusing because of the complexity and severity of my son's type of autism (a level 3 or severe autism) coupled with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). To better understand my son and to make sure I understand his condition, I took some time off work, and by that time I mean I took some years off studying autism. Not through any institution as this proved to be futile as far as the specific type of autism. Today, I am proud to say that I have acquired enough knowledge on the condition and decided to think big but start small. And since I love writing, I decided that my "small start" would be an AUTISM BLOG. Through it, I am helping a lot of parents and getting to answer a lot of questions on Quora on the subject. |
