In this 14 min video, I outline a method to deal with negative emotions. Prof. of psychiatry Dan Siegel devised the method, which he calls: ‘Name it to Tame it.’ according to Dan Siegel, when you experience significant internal tension or anxiety, it’s possible to reduce the stress by 50% using this method.
The idea behind the technique is that if we can see the emotion, we don’t have to become the emotion. We needn’t become entangled with the emotion and can decouple from it. The key to the method is to practise it when negative emotions happen. I have been using the method for years and it works because we create space around our emotions, instead of being dragged down by them. I hope you find the method useful.
