“Life Force” guiding our history, our body and spirits.
Self portrait art, life drawing from the live model, gesture, and plein air painting.
And extended contour studies, slower than you have ever drawn before, like the Latin ballroom dancers whose entire routine was facing each other entirely motionless.
My earliest mentors reach back into early 2Oth century art.
I have studied the Austrian Expressionists, George Innes, Paula Modersohn-Becker, Pablo Picasso, Ludwig Kirschner, van Gogh and Gauguin, Toulouse Lautrec, Aristide Maillol, Arshille Gorky, Willem De Kooning, Cecily Brown, Cy Twombly, Georg Baselitz, William Blake, H.R. Giger, WW2 and the Cambodian holocaust, neuropsychology and the psychoanalytic theories of Sigmund Freud, Stanislav Grof, Carl Jung and Melanie Klein.
Currently pursuing more lifelong interest in the American Civil War, including the Cairo Ironclad Warship, and Custer Legend.
Some materials for initial in class session provided. Check with me.

About Bryan Prillwitz Bryan Prillwitz was born on July 5, 1964 in Benton Harbor, Michigan and grew up nearby the Lake Michigan shoreline. In 1994 I returned to drawing, painting and art which was my main outlet for expressing my inner feelings in my earlier days. “Little girl lost, little boy found” to me describes this desolate post-apocalyptic world. |
