For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul - Leviticus 17:11

The average adult has about 10.5 pints of blood and six hundred thousand miles of blood vessels. They are the main transporters that help to circulate and bring this life-giving flow to every organ of the body so that it functions.

Without it, the body fails just as a car engine needs oil to work. This is why blood banks were created for emergencies to assist in saving a person's life due to an unexpected accident that causes us to lose it.

And yet at the same time, we are spiritually dead and separated from a relationship with God because of our sinful nature.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God - Romans 3:23

In the Old, Testament animals had to be sacrificed on an altar so that their blood would act as a temporary covering of our sins before the sight of God.

This process seems rather burdensome and cruel but God in his perfect wisdom understands we need visual examples to understand deeper spiritual truths that are far beyond what our finite minds can comprehend.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ - Ephesians 2:4

This is why he sent his only son Yeshua to become our one-time sacrificial lamb to satisfy and cover our sins with his perfect blood.

When we by faith place our trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ for salvation. We are autotmaictly given a spiritual blood transfusion that secures our place in heaven for eternity even though our physical body will one day die.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live - John 11:25

The most obvious question is why would God who is perfect, and lacks nothing send his only son to suffer and die on our behalf as a living sacrifice?

Love!

But not just any kind of love but one that's perfect know as Agape!

But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth - Psalms 86:15

Have you trusted in his perfect love and redemption?
