Mediumship Practice

The best way to start any spiritual practice is by developing a consistent meditation practice, and becoming aware of your own energy.

As we begin to sit daily in meditation, quieting our mind and allowing spirit to work with us in the high vibration of love and gratitude and healing, we also begin to learn more about the mechanics of mediumship. Some may sit in meditation for months without experiencing anything, while others will begin to experience things right away. Always know spirit is working with you even if you are not perceiving it.

The main ways we experience the spirit world as mediums can be summarized with the known “clairs”.

§ Clairalience (clear smelling)—Smelling scent (e.g., perfume, cigarette smoke)

§ Clairaudience (clear hearing)—Hearing words, phrases, and songs, typically in your mind’s ear, but can also be heard with your physical ears

§ Claircognizance (clear knowing)—Psychic knowing or direct thoughts

§ Clairgustance (clear tasting)—Tasting a substance psychically

§ Clairsentience (clear feeling)—Bodily feelings and sensations

§ Clairvoyance (clear seeing)—Receiving images and visions, typically in your mind’s eye, can also be seen with your physical eye

As you sit in your meditation practice you may become aware of these different sensations. Allow yourself to experience them without fear, remembering that every spirit interaction happens within love and light. This is a gift you were born with, a natural experience for your soul. As you become comfortable with this, you will be able to experience a more fluid communication with the spirit world.

During this meditation, if you choose, you may put out the intention to get to know your spiritual guides or ancestors. You will learn more from them than from any tutor.

It’s a very personal and vulnerable journey, and a bit different for everyone. There are many different viewpoints and opinions, so take what resonates with you the best, and ignore the rest ✅
