How to control your thoughts
The question "What are you thinking right now?" is as difficult for you to answer as the question "How can you get to the Earth's core in the cheapest way?"
Thoughts usually arise unconsciously, but they have a tremendous impact on the course of your life, as you act according to your thoughts.
How does someone act who thinks, "My job is so terrible, but I have to make money somehow"?
How does someone act who thinks, "What can I really do? No one listens to me anyway!"?
Do you have a choice? Yes, you do! Anytime.
Who tells you what you should or can think?
Who says that thoughts of anger are justified when the person in front of you isn’t driving as fast as you’d like? You could think, “Why not? I’ll just drive slower too.”
Who says that thoughts of fear are justified when you move to a new city?
You could think, “Wow, something completely new! Here I can explore and learn!”
An important shift in your life can occur when you get aware of thoughts that makes you happy:
What feels good to you? Which thoughts bring you joy?
For me its this:
I feel happy when someone invites me to speak about the power of thoughts and emotions.
I feel happy when I can take short trips.
I feel happy when I get to coach others.
I feel happy when I can work with others on a project for a better future.
It makes me happy when I inspire people to take action and motivate themselves.
Thoughts are the language of the brain, emotions are the language of your body. It answers the brain with an emotion fitting to the thought.
And the brain responds to the emotion with another thought fitting to the emotion. It is like ping pong.
The more you realize what is going on in your brain the more control you get and you become calmer because it is not more something happening to you. You are the one who creates.
