We live in a world where being judged for free is something normal. We are judged for everything, even for how we drink our coffee, but especially for how we think, act, dress.
No one is an exception when it comes to being judged. I, for example, one of the times when I was harshly judged was when I got divorced. Absolutely everyone told me I was crazy, I was accused of infidelity, that I don’t think about the children and the list can go on. I kept trying to explain that I no longer found myself in that marriage, my place was not there and I wanted and felt the need to look for my place, to look for my happiness, fulfillment, peace. After I kept trying to explain, I suddenly stopped, I closed myself in my world, I limited my space so that I could clear my thoughts, I gave up friends and everything. Instead, my parents didn’t judged me, they didn’t understand my acts but they were by my side. I was sure that time would clarify everything and it did.
After a few years, I accidentally met some former friends who wanted to apologize for their behavior. I accepted the apologies even though they came a little late, I was a different person compared to what they knew. They say that friends are for life and that they are always by your side. Is it so?! When I needed, they ignored me, judged me and pointed me.
„Don’t judge for free, you don’t know the reasons” is a powerful phrase that highlights the importance of empathy, understanding, and kindness towards others. It means that we should not be too quick to judge or criticize others without first knowing the reasons behind their actions.
Often, people tend to judge others based on their own assumptions, beliefs, and biases, without taking the time to understand the full context of the situation. This can lead to misunderstandings, hurt feelings, and even conflicts. Therefore, it is crucial to keep an open mind and withhold judgment until we have all the facts.
Moreover, there can be several reasons behind someone’s behavior that are not immediately apparent. For instance, a person may seem rude or unresponsive, but in reality, they may be dealing with personal issues that are causing them stress and anxiety. Or, someone may appear lazy or unproductive, but they may be struggling with a physical or mental health condition that makes it difficult for them to function normally.
Therefore, instead of jumping to conclusions or criticizing others, we should try to understand their perspective and be compassionate towards them. We can do this by asking questions, actively listening to their responses, and showing empathy and kindness towards them.
In conclusion, „Don’t judge for free, you don’t know the reasons” is an important reminder to approach others with kindness, empathy, and understanding, instead of making snap judgments based on incomplete information. By doing so, we can build stronger and more meaningful relationships with others, and create a more compassionate and inclusive world.
So let’s stop judging for free, we hurt a lot by doing this.
Be kind, we only have one life.
