Indeed vedic astrology is very complex, if someone try to study causally vedic astrology then he / she will stop studying after few chapter only. Its because there are so many basics in vedic astrology that a person studying it initially get confused and bugged up. Later they leave studying it.

The main part of vedic horoscope is its interpretation / predictions on the basis of the planetary positions of the horoscopes and other calculations. It is in this part many of the best academically qualified of vedic astrology, FAIL.

Predictions in vedic astrology is an ART and NOT too many people can master it IN-SPITE OF FULL ACADEMIC KNOWLEDGE OF IT.

There are so many many many variables that it makes very difficult for a person to choose the right combinations for the outcome of the predictions and secondly there are different opinion of the same placement of planet by different Sages with respect to other combinations as per them. So there are huge number of formulae for the same positions of planet and to understand it one have to still study that planet in more finer and finer to reach the ultimate predictions.

Like in traditional astrology there are divisional charts which are the finer calculations for the position of the planet and the interpretation of the finer calculated chart is also different. Example the studying D1 chart and D9 chart are different.

Now in vedic astrology there are again different branches and there way of studying the horoscope is again different and their calculations are also different.
