The Use of Gold & Silver in Colour Therapy

Silver
Silver is the colour of the moon, which is ever changing. It moves like water with the ebbs and flows of the tide. It relates to the feminine principle and the emotional sensitive aspect of the mind. It balances, harmonises and mentally cleanses.
Silver is a healing colour that promotes self healing and spiritual growth, its energy can draw negativity from the body and replace it with positive energy. From a colour psychology viewpoint it signals time for reflection and a change of direction as it illuminates the way forward.
Silver is believed to be a mirror to the soul helping us to see ourselves as others see us. Traditionally grey haired people are viewed as being old but the phrase silver haired traditionally describes a distinguished individual who is ageing gracefully.
With its reflective and sensitive qualities silver inspires intuition, clairvoyance and mental telepathy, and is also very good for public speaking, so wear silver if you need to make a speech or get a point across. But, be aware It reflects back any energy given out, whether it is positive or negative.
This colour is very versatile, being shiny and modern as well as being alluring, sparkling and elegant. Silver is also respectable, courteous, dignified, responsible, self controlled, determined and organised. Silver relates well to the corporate world and those in positions of responsibility for both male and female. You will probably see a lot of silver in modern offices, think of the Gherkin in London with its shiny exterior which reflects back at us.
Silver works well with most colours as it illuminates and reflects the energy of those colours which surround it, silver although associated with grey is more light hearted and optimistic.
On its negative side silver can be indecisive, non committal, dull and lifeless much like grey, so use the best you can find.

Gold
Gold is an overall healing colour that works from head to toe, it connects to the light of the higher spirit, restructuring the spiritual layers of the aura, protecting and charging the energy field with life force. It is the colour of high ideals and is helpful for inner head problems, growths and heart conditions.
Gold is associated with the sun and is therefore related to abundance and power, higher ideals, wisdom and understanding. It is mentally revitalizing, energising and inspiring, helpful for fear, uncertainty and lack of interest. Pale gold is excellent for depression and sharpens the mind.
Gold shouts sparkle, richness and inspiration and can be overwhelming if used in large quantities, so if either wearing gold or using it in interior design add other colours that will accent it and avoid using it in large expanses.
Gold is very close to yellow when choosing foods to eat, golden and yellow foods boost the nervous system and the brain to encourage a positive outlook on life.
Wearing golden yellow will promote sparkle and vitality and give you the ability to meet new challenges. Where wearing yellow can sometimes encourage egotism change the shade to gold which will encourage you to find your inner wisdom. The golden yellow will help you think clearly and feed your nervous system.
