You have your piercing done! Cool!

We hope the procedure was conducted by the professional in a clean environment and with a medicine needle. But to have the piercing done is not everything. It also requires aftercare.

The healing process normally takes a long time. As our skin normally is in contact with our clothes, the piercing that is moved by it doesn’t heal so fast. Usually, the complete healing takes from 6 to 18 months, depending on the body part.

You have to clean your piercing daily. Use a cotton pad and pre-boiled water and non-salt substances. Oils are also allowed, but after using them you have to remove them from your skin with some pre-boiled water. As a usual procedure, you should moisturize a cotton pad and hold it to your piercing for 5-10 minutes. Nothing difficult, right?

Also, it is important to change your jewelry (so-called down-size). Do not move and “play” with your jewelry as it will prolong the process of healing.

Lots of movements can cause a migration of your piercing. It is not painful, but not esthetically beautiful. You can go to your master, and he or she will help you to solve this problem.

Do not be scared if there are any excretions: it is absolutely normal.

Anyway, all the caring is not difficult, but as it is your body, take care of it and keep in touch with your piercer to make sure everything is going according to the plan.
