About 14% of the American population is taking CBD oil. CBD oil has risen in popularity in the last few years and many people are flocking to try it.

Despite its rapid rise to fame, CBD oil has faced a somewhat of a rocky beginning. There have been several questions concerning its safety, legality, and the biggest question: does CBD get you high?

These questions and more are important to explore, especially with a topic like CBD. If you are curious about getting high from CBD, continue reading to learn more.

What is CBD?

The cannabis plant contains chemical compounds called cannabinoids. CBD is a cannabinoid, and CBD is short for cannabidiol. CBD is found in the cannabis plant, otherwise known as marijuana or hemp.

You can take CBD oil in many different forms, such as tinctures, edibles, gummies, or even vaping.

Does CBD Get You High?

This is the question that everyone wants to be answered before they consider taking CBD oil, and where a lot of the confusion comes from.

Let’s have a look at where Lazarus Naturals CBD comes from first.

CBD can be derived from a plant family called cannabis, which contains both the hemp and marijuana plant.

The difference lies in the fact that another compound is also derived from marijuana. This cannabinoid is called tetrahydrocannabinol or THC. THC is the cannabinoid that’s responsible for producing a psychoactive state when it’s ingested, which is described as the feeling of ‘being high’.

CBD, on the other hand, has no psychoactive properties at all. It cannot get you high like THC.

One of the reasons why the legality of CBD has been such a pressing issue is because you can also extract CBD from the marijuana plant. But CBD itself cannot produce any mind-altering effects, whether it comes from hemp or marijuana.

Even though some scientists have discovered how to separate CBD from THC, most CBD oil on the market today comes from the hemp plant. Legally, CBD oil can be sold and still have a 0.3% amount of THC.

How Does CBD Work?

CBD oil works with a system in your body called the endocannabinoid system or the ECS. The ECS works to bring balance to the body in areas such as mood, hunger, pain, and the function of the immune system.

The ECS works by using endocannabinoid receptors. There are two main receptors, C1 and C2.

THC also binds to these receptors, especially to the C1 receptor that is located in the brain. CBD also interacts with C1, yet doesn’t cause the same high feeling as THC. This is likely because when THC and CBD are taken together, the CBD may not allow the THC to take effect.

Is CBD Safe?

CBD is an amazing compound, but that doesn’t automatically make it safe. Most people use it with very little to no side effects, but not everyone has the same experience.

Here are some possible side effects of CBD oil:

• Dry mouth or excessive thirst

• Bloating or diarrhea

• Feeling more tired than normal

• Nausea

Overall, CBD is considered safe to use, but some people should reconsider taking it, especially if you’re currently taking medications, pregnant or nursing. If you’re thinking about taking CBD check with your doctor first and make sure that it won’t conflict with any other medications.

If you’re worried about overdosing on CBD, don’t be. You would have to take a very significant amount of CBD oil for it to be dangerous to your system.

This Is Great News! But, Is CBD Legal?

The Drug Enforcement Administration classifies marijuana as a Schedule 1 drug, meaning it has a high potential for being misused. However, CBD oil that comes from hemp is legal. As mentioned, most CBD Oil on the market today comes from the hemp plant not from the Marijuana plant.

Across the United States, each state has its laws for regulating the use of CBD. So if you’re curious about whether or not you might have to answer to the law for using CBD, check with your state’s specific law.

At the federal level, CBD is considered legal, but it must contain less than 0.3% THC.

Generally speaking, CBD can be sold safely in stores or online as a pure 100% oil, or with as little as 0.3% THC as long as it’s derived from the hemp plant.

How to Take CBD

CBD can be found in many forms, and there’s something to suit nearly everyone.

Tinctures combine CBD, alcohol, oil or water. This makes it bioavailable and fast-acting, with easing measuring for dosage.

CBD gummies are infused with CBD oil and are great on-the-go or as treats. Capsules are also filled with CBD oil and are convenient to take without having to measure how much you need.

CBD edibles are foods that contain CBD oil in them. There are a variety of different foods like chocolates, candy, and even drinks like coffee and now being treated with CBD for people who don’t enjoy the taste of gummies or tinctures.

Vaping is becoming more and more popular. Vaping CBD oil is also a fast-acting method because it bypasses digestion and goes directly to your lungs and into the bloodstream. There are many different cartridges and flavors available.

CBD Oil: Is It Right For You?

So, does CBD get you high? The short answer is no, as long as it contains no THC like these products! CBD can be effective without producing psychosomatic effects.
