Breaking the ties of Addiction

What makes us different from animals?

Human brain is the most evolved among all the other living beings that we see in this world. The most important differentiating factor between humans and animals is the power to discriminate and think.

It is this ability that has led us to many great advanced technological developments that we see around the world . Many great minds have used this power effectively and contributed to the community that has helped us evolve rapidly.

We all have higher and lower tendencies within our mind and act based on them . When we lead an unconscious life, we tend to get influenced by our lower tendencies that eventually leads us to places of addictions.

There are many factors that include intergenerational trauma, stress and challenges in life that could lead us to addictions.

Any addiction be it in the form of devices, social media, alcohol, drugs, substances can only provide quick temporary fixes and do not have the ability to solve our problems or challenges permanently.

A research conducted by Oxford University, says that nearly 11.8 million people die every year due to addictions of various kinds around the world.

We all have the power to solve our problems effectively without having to rely on these external objects by regaining our self control.

Not everything that our Minds think is true.

Sometimes, it requires us to train our minds to use the power of discrimination to manage our own thoughts without letting our minds to control us and behave crazily.

This takes consistent practice and patience. However, when we are able to manage ourselves, we will develop greater internal strength to solve our problems and challenges effectively . Eventually, we will be able to use the conserved energy for higher purposes in life and lead a peaceful and happy life.

So, let’s all take control of our life rather than allowing external objects around us to take control of us .

5 Simple Strategies to Self Love

In life, we run around looking for love, recognition and acceptance everywhere around us.We look for acceptance and validation from everyone around us inorder to progress in our life and consider that if we receive it then we can truly be successful, happy and contented. Sometimes, this leads to giving priority to everyone around us to make them happy and putting ourselves last .

We have time for everyone else in the world but hardly have time to enjoy our company.

There is immense potential waiting to be unlocked within each one of us if we practise self love and acceptance.

Today Iam going to share 5 simple strategies to practise self love

  • Dedicate some alone time in your day to enjoy your company

  • Love and Accept yourself based on your values

  • Acknowledge yourself for your efforts in your day

  • Celebrate your small achievements

  • Forgive yourself for your mistakes

By following these simple strategies , we are giving ourselves the permission to be who we are uniquely and motivate ourselves everyday to achieve greater things in life.

Enjoying our own company through self love can also improve our emotional and mental well being inorder to prevent from loneliness and depression.

Happiness is a state that is not dependent on external environment but dependent on your internal environment.

Developing our internal environment can help us cope during these tough times to develop a growth mindset in our life.

We don't have to wait for happiness to arrive until everything around is perfect instead we can cultivate happiness through self-love .

Let's all remember to spend time and energy to work on ourself rather than chasing the world around us to grant it for us.

As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism. Today I know it is “LOVE OF ONESELF” - Charlie Chaplin

6 Steps to overcome people pleasing

Have you felt ever tired of people pleasing in your life?

Pleasing means expressing kindness or favor towards someone beyond a measure in order to live up to their expectations so that they like you.

It is a form of external validation that we look upto from people around us so that they accept, recognize and like us to feel a sense of belonging .

Many of us have fallen into this trap from our childhood believing that if we live upto the expectations of our loved ones, we will be able to lead a happy and peaceful life. However, we tend to forget that and in this process we forget to live a life for ourselves. We are giving others the permission to determine how to think, act and behave. This slowly leads us to a place where we ignore our own inner voice/intuition and allow others to take charge of our life. Prolonged people pleasing can cause dissatisfaction, resentment and depression leading to unhappiness in our life.

People pleasing arises from a lack of self esteem, fear of rejection and sometimes also from past trauma . As it is something that we learnt over time that has become part of our beliefs, there are ways to overcome it so that we can lead a life of authenticity.

There are 6 simple strategies that can help to overcome external validation

  1. Identify - Find out the 4 W’s - When, Where, What and Who you have been seeking external validation in your life. For example - I often used to seek external validation from my loved ones while making an important decision in my life because I used to consider others in my life as experts based on their age and seniority. Whenever I was denied the approval, I used to feel lost and helpless. So, identifying the people and situations from your past can help you understand the control that you have been providing to seek approval.

  2. **Prepare **- Prepare yourself to accept rejections from your loved ones prior to performing actions that you once looked up from others. Accept that rejection is part of being different and unique .

  3. Establish Boundaries - Create healthy boundaries for yourself before jumping into performing actions for approval. For example - This could be as simple as “Do i have the resources and time to perform this action”, “Do i have to sacrifice my own personal needs in order to do this action ”,”Will taking this action serve me in the future or make me feel sad”.

  4. Prioritize- Prioritize your voice over others when it comes to critical events and decision making. This does not mean not to listen to others opinions but it means listening in an unbiased way where you can consider the inputs as data/ facts required for making a decision in your life.

  5. Learn to Say No - Sometimes, denying with a simple word “No” seems very hard for most of us. However, it is a very important word that helps you to give you enough time, space and freedom to respect our choices which eventually develops strong self esteem.

  6. Take Risk - Assess the risk of acting based on your inner voice. For example - You can ask questions like “What is the worst that can happen if i were to follow my inner voice and execute the actions”.

Being you is the most unique and wonderful gift in the world. When we begin to listen and act based on our values and intuition, we will be able to live an authentic life where freedom of thought and expression is no longer a dream but a reality.

Live your best life as your best self !!

How to Overcome Procrastination

Do you know that 95% of us procrastinate from carrying out tasks relevant in the present moment?

Procrastination is the act of unnecessarily delaying tasks until the last minute or past the deadline. Prolonged procrastination can cause guilt/shame and eventually result in depression from being unable to carry out tasks at the right time and can gradually affect our productivity.

Most often, we procrastinate over tasks that are mostly unpleasant and do not provide us immediate rewards. We tend to sometimes over analyze the tasks and let fear control our judgment leading to postponing the task as an easier option rather than executing it. This slowly leads us to a place of stagnation that prevents us from moving forward in our life.

According to Newton’s law if a body is at rest or moving at a constant speed in a straight line, it will remain at rest or keep moving in a straight line at constant speed unless it is acted upon by a force. Similarly, in order to move out of procrastination we need to carry out some steps that help us to perform our activities

The steps are

  1. Acknowledge - In this step, accept that you have a tendency to procrastinate while carrying out certain types of tasks. For example - One of the activities that I always used to procrastinate was while having to carry out a new task that I have very little knowledge or experience about. Recently, I experienced it while preparing for my citizenship. I noticed that I was intentionally postponing the date of my exam to a further date believing that the more time I get to prepare, the more are the chances to succeed.

  2. **Assess the task ** - Assess the nature of the task, priority, reason behind performing it and the possible areas that are lacking inorder to complete it.

  3. **Start small **- Break down your task to the smallest task possible and pick the one that you can complete quickly based on priority.

  4. Set a deadline - Give yourself a deadline to complete each small task related to the work and commit to the deadline by removing all the possible distractions that can prevent you from achieving the goal.

  5. Celebrate - Celebrate the achievement of your goals by rewarding yourself a special gift to recognize the hard work and commitment that you had invested towards fulfilling the task at hand.

By carrying out the 5 steps, you will be able to execute the tasks without leading into procrastination.

Procrastination is just an indication that is alerting us to take necessary action to achieve our goals. Instead of leaving the task in an incomplete state, taking effort to overcome procrastination can improve our mindset and overall well-being towards becoming the best version of ourselves.

You don’t have to see the whole staircase , just take the first step - Martin Luther King, Jr

How to stop Overthinking?

Has Overthinking prevented you from achieving your goals and finding peace in your life?

Overthinking is overburdening ourselves with thoughts that arise from our own imagination that are beyond our control in the present. The accuracy of the predictions that we make from them may not be helpful for us in our current situation in life.

In this state of mind we tend to get stuck in our own thinking that is based on strong beliefs and conditioning. This prevents us from taking healthy risks in our life and also leads us to a place of disappointment eventually.

Overthinking arises from fear of threat or danger that can affect us . Chronic overthinking develops into mental health issues that include anxiety and depression.

According to Forbes, 73% of the people between the age group of 25-35 are affected by chronic overthinking along with 52% of the people between the age group of 45-55 .

So, how can we stop overthinking ?

Today, i am going to share with you 4 simple strategies to stop overthinking

  1. Accept - Develop an attitude to question the thoughts that arise in your mind based on actual facts before believing them completely and entertain only the thoughts that actually confirms the validity based on your analysis.

  2. Retrain - Not all thoughts that come up are urgent or important enough to pay attention in the present moment. So, if a thought comes about the future or past, retrain your mind through self talk to postpone it for a later time.

  3. Engage - Often, we get into overthinking mode when we are idle or when we are less occupied in our daily life. Notice the times when you often get into overthinking mode and find a way to engage in any activity that shifts your thinking into an immediate activity that needs your focus and attention.

  4. Recharge - Take moments in your day to free yourself by relaxing your mind and body. For example - Incorporate activities that include meditation, music, exercise, nature walks to relax your mind and body.

By performing the above 4 strategies, we are training our mind from overthinking to a state of action that eventually would lead to success and happiness.

So, next time you get into overthinking mode, redirect your creative energy instead of allowing yourself to go into depletion.

In Bhagavad Gita, when Arjuna faces this situation where he is unable to control the mind, Lord Krishna says

असंशयं महाबाहो मनो दुर्निग्रहं चलम् |
अभ्यासेन तु कौन्तेय वैराग्येण च गृह्यते || 35|| (Chapter 6)

It is definitely difficult to control your mind, but with practice and detachment, you can definitely gain control over it.

How to overcome Boredom?

Do you know most of us pick up bad habits and addictions during our boredom time?

A research conducted by University of Britrish columbia states that 8 out of 10 people are bored/worried/stressed/ sad in the world since pandemic time .

According to Washingtonpost defines Boredom as a distressing emotional state that combines feelings of restlessness and lethargy, arising from situations that are no longer satisfying or stimulating.

Boredom has been determined as the common cause that leads to various mental health issues that includes loneliness, anxiety, depression and more.

It is during these times that we let our mind stray into whatever around us to overcome loneliness. This idle mind gets into distractions and loses its way back to the centre or home.We all believe that boredom is bad and tend to look up to something or someone to fill in our boredom thinking that they will be able to fill in our feeling of loneliness in our life. So we try to keep ourselves busy in different ways.

However, our minds also need rest as do our bodies. We hardly think about this and let ourselves engage unconsciously into activities that include browsing TV channels, internet, shopping, social media, phones, text messages looking for a way to fill this gap.

Although these activities will fill our boredom, none of these can fill your loneliness .

Today, i am going to share with you 7 simple steps to effectively utilize your boredom time to prevent diving into habits that can drain your energy

1.Find your Boredom Time - Look at your regular day and find out the times that you feel bored the most. For example - I have noticed that my boredom time is usually after work and when my husband is at work and my kids are busy playing with each other .

  1. Find an Unwind Zone - Choose a place inside your home where you are comfortable and away from external disturbances . Sit silently, watch your breath and pay complete attention to yourself for a few minutes. Continue this process, until you feel calm and relaxed.

  2. Journal your thoughts - Pick a small notepad/diary and write down your thoughts as you listen to them closely.Look at your notes and ask yourself - How did my day go? Where can I bring in change so that I can improve my tomorrow? For example - You can create different categories of your life that includes Work, Relationships, Personal growth, Fun etc.

  3. Learn - In this step, dedicate some time to make a note of what you learnt about yourself during that day. For example - So some of the questions that can help you ponder is What did I learn today about myself? How did I behave towards others? How did I respond to conversations?

  4. Choose - Pick one behavior/attitude that you believe will improve your tomorrow. Make a note of it and implement it into action the next day. Observe your progress every day until you get it into track.

If you believe, you would need assistance to bring the change, then connect with a Coach/Mentor/Therapist in the related area to help you bring the change into your life.

Alternatively, you can also combine your idle time with spending time with nature, performing a hobby or learning a new skill also.

An important reminder while following the above steps is to not get caught into overthinking or judging your thoughts and translating it into self pity , self criticism or self doubt . Rather, use this process as a tool to self improvement.

Boredom is one of the best opportunities in our life to utilize for self development so that we can deep dive into ourselves in order to learn and understand more about ourselves so that we can improve our daily lives and become better human beings. These are moments of growth that can help us to renew our energy and gain invaluable strength to get back to life with more power and wisdom.

So ,next time you are bored don’t escape from it but utilize it for for your personal development.

5 Easy Steps to Overcome Self Sabotaging

Do you have an inner voice in your head that holds you back and prevents you from achieving your goals?

All that we think is not true. Inner critic or the negative voice that chatters to us pulling us back and drowning you sometimes into misery or sorrow is hard to recognize and arises from our past experiences and limited beliefs. When left unresolved, it impacts our mental health adversely causing overthinking, self doubt, depression and anxiety. These negative voices are unreal and cause noises inside our own mind distracting us from achieving our true potential in life.

One of the greatest gifts that has been bestowed to all of us is the ability to think and discriminate in our lives. It is this special ability that differentiates us from other living beings on this beautiful planet. However, when we lose the power of discrimination we get consumed by our own inner voices that steals peace from our own lives.

Today, I am going to 5 steps to use the power of discrimination so that you can move ahead and achieve greater things in your life.

  1. Identify the Statements - What are the statements that sabotage you from achieving your goal. For example - Make a list of all the statements that puts you down in the form of "Iam not good enough", "I can’t do this", "I will end up being ridiculed", "I will be judged", "I will fail".

  2. Zoom into your Triggers - What situation or event, triggers the statements that you have identified. For example - Include the triggers into your list that includes people, events and situations which bring up the self sabotage statements in your head.

  3. Validate the Statements- Use your power of discrimination to validate these thoughts with evidence before believing it. For example - Asking questions to yourself to understand the validity of the statement could be like - What are the reasons that proves that “I am not good enough”. Is it Valid? You can also use your past experiences to assess the truth.

  4. Challenge the Statements- Challenge your thoughts. For example, What is the worst that can happen if you deny the self sabotage statements and carry out the action beforehand.

  5. Execute the Action - Perform a small part of the action that will take you towards your goal . For example - What are the simple steps that you can execute to invalidate my inner noise.

By following the above 5 steps, you are taking control of your thoughts through discrimination rather than allowing all the thoughts in your mind to control you. When you follow this simple practice, you are training your mind eventually to follow a mental discipline that can be unshattered at all times.

When you are in control of your thoughts, you are taking charge of yourself and allowing only the best to happen to you regardless of whatever happens around you in your life. However, in cases where thinking patterns are strongly rooted as habits, it becomes hard to overcome by yourself, so don’t be ashamed to consult a coach or a therapist who can help you overcome it and achieve your goals in life.

Quoting a famous sloka in Bhagavad Gita below -

उद्धरेदात्मनाऽऽत्मानं नात्मानमवसादयेत्।

आत्मैव ह्यात्मनो बन्धुरात्मैव रिपुरात्मनः।।6.5।।

Meaning - You have to uplift you by yourself and not allow your mind to sink because your mind itself is your friend and enemy.

7 Benefits of Failure

Do you know failure is an essential ingredient for our own personal development?

All the great people in the world who have achieved great things in life have failed more times than we can imagine. Thomas Edison failed 10,000 times before inventing the bulb. However he did not give up, rather continued his learning process until he invented the bulb that became one of the greatest inventions in the world.

Unfortunately, our society only talks and praises the victories of the great accomplishments and less about the lessons of failures that made Albert Einstein,Walt Disney, Mark zukerberg, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and many more in this world.

If we look at nature, we will notice that even plants and trees adapt during unfavorable weather conditions of rain and winter.

Everybody in life goes through ups and downs. Most of us become happy when we achieve success and sad when we encounter downs in our life. Some of us even give up in our journey of life thinking that failure means we are not good enough.

We consider failure of our actions as failure of ourselves. However we are not our actions. So labelling us as failures based on our actions is not the right interpretation.

Today iam going to share with you 7 benefits of failure in our personal growth and development.

1.Provides feedback to help us reflect on our actions

2.Teaches us lessons of perseverance and patience

3.Helps us learn different perspectives of facing a situation

4.Prepares us for the adverse situations in our life

5.Builds resilience and grit to undertake challenges

6.Encourages us to work beyond our comfort zone and try new things

7.Develops courage and strength

Next time, you face failure in your life . Welcome it rather than giving up. Look at what you can learn from it and try again to grow beyond your own limitations.

Failure is not the end , it is just a part of your journey towards your goal.

"I have not failed. I've just found ten thousand ways that won't work."- Thomas Edison

5 Steps to transform Negative Emotions

In life, we encounter different types of people and situations. Some people in our life help us learn and grow. Some others drain our energy and suck us into a place of negativity. The negative energy that could be verbal or non-verbal can impact our mindset and can sometimes even paralyze us from moving forward in our life. The negative emotions caused by negative social interactions can make us feel lost and unhappy.

How do we regain our energy to move forward in our life?

One of the most effective ways to regain our energy is by self-regulating our thoughts and emotions .By training our mind, we can elevate ourselves to a centered state that remains unaffected internally irrespective of our external situations in life.

The centered state is a state where we have self control or control over our own mind and use it effectively rather than it using us. Through this process, we will be able to channel our energies in the right direction that can help us achieve our goals, improve our focus and productivity as well as live a peaceful and happy life.

Today I will share with you 5 simple steps to transform our negative emotions .

  1. Stop - When a negative thought/emotion arises in your mind, stop for a moment before judging the emotion. For example - Using simple breathing exercises is one of the best ways to develop awareness to stop.

  2. Identify - Identify the emotion that you are experiencing by giving it a name. This allows us to separate ourselves from the negative emotion and distancing from it. For example - Using funny names to distinguish each negative emotion will help us develop mindfulness around it.

  3. Feel - Pay close attention to the area where you feel the negative emotion strongly and give it your full attention. For example - Scan your body to find where you strongly feel the negative emotion and just stay with it.

  4. Talk - Talk to the emotion and ask questions on why it came up and what action can help to transform it. For example - Talk to the emotion with love and compassion to understand what it needs from you and how you can execute it as an action .

  5. Perform - Do the positive action that came out from the response . This helps to shift your focus towards a positive action that will help you to regain your positive energy back to your life.

It is not possible to completely eradicate negativity from others . However, by carrying out the above steps we can take effective measures to regulate our thoughts and emotions to regain our positive energy back into our life rather than allowing the negative emotions to affect and paralyze us from moving forward in our life.

Positive and Negative emotions cannot occupy our mind at the same time. - Napolean Hill

Digital Detox

With the rise of Covid around us, we all have been separated from each other, unable to meet physically and connect among ourselves. The uncertainty of Covid has created mixed feelings within our minds that includes fear, sorrow, loneliness and more. We have been trying to substitute these feelings by looking up to our devices and getting trapped into it most of the time during our day thinking that will help us to solve our issues. While devices were created by humans to use as a tool to provide us with information , it has made us all rely on them to fill our boredom, loneliness and sorrow.

The more we spend time with our devices, the less is the time we spend with our family and children. The more we live in the digital world, the less we live in the real world. The more we spend time going through social media, the less we spend time on ourselves.

We have been consuming a lot of good and bad information overloading our minds and our brains. This gradually results in us feeling extremely tired , drained and feeling unenergetic. It is important to realize that if we don’t become conscious of our digital time, we will have to pay the price later with ill health. Information is just like food. As undigested food in our body can cause us harm. Undigested information can cause harm to our intelligence and impact our mental health.

As some of us carry out detoxing our bodies by refraining from baked , sweet and unhealthy foods, a similar detox is required to protect our mental health.

Digital detox means giving yourself time to refrain from digital devices that include TV, Laptop, mobile devices etc.

Today I'm going to share with you 4 steps to implement digital detox into your daily schedule.

1.Preparation - This stage involves preparing the day before by silencing notifications on your device and placing it in a room where you don’t sleep.

2.Start - Begin your day without looking at any device at least for an hour.

3.Engage - Engage in an activity with yourself, your family or outdoors .

4.Allocate - Restrict the time you spend on social media . Allocate short intervals of time to go through social media. Set a reminder to help you get back from social media.

Following the above steps, you will notice that you will be able to better manage your time and energy on digital devices and use it when required rather than allowing them to distract you from your daily life.

Let’s all use our time effectively and not allow devices around us to steal our time, focus and energy from us.

3 Daily Practises that can change your life

Early from our childhood days, we have been taught to take care of our health, follow habits that include brushing our teeth, bathing, brush our hair, eat good food, learn to find a job, wear good clothes and follow a routine to lead a good socially acceptable life. However, we tend to pay very less attention to maintaining the health of our mind which plays a significant role in a person’s life.

To be truly happy and successful we need a combination of physical and mental health.

Our Mind is a strong weapon that has been gifted to us . It is like a knife that can be used for different purposes. It can be used to cut vegetables or kill a person. Positive emotions of love energizes us whereas negative emotions of fear, hatred, sorrow drains our energy and makes us tired and develops into mental health issues. We often pollute our minds with different kinds of negative emotions and never realize the impact it has on us until it manifests as anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.

If we are able to gain self control over our thoughts and emotions through training our mind, we can elevate ourselves to lead a life of bliss as that itself is the doorway to an awakened state.

Today, I am going to share with you 3 simple practices that can help us develop and maintain good mental health.

The first practice is Meditation . Meditation means giving love and attention to ourselves in order to tap the infinite potential of our minds.Meditation can help us to create inner peace and joy within us in order to prepare us to stay calm while we encounter the challenges for the day.

I would like to give you an example of how meditation has helped me to remain calm and provided me clarity to accomplish a recent achievement in my life.

As a part of progressing in my career, I had to complete a certification .So I started my day with meditation and prepared myself for the day before heading out for my examination. When I reached the exam centre , the examiner verified my details and tried to enter an authorization code to start the exam. However the code did not work even after several attempts.Meditation helped me to remain calm, patient and grounded .This allowed the examiner also to try alternatives and find a solution that helped to get a new code which worked. Although I started my exam 15 minutes late, I was able to remain calm, think clearly and focus on my responses . That helped me to provide accurate answers that helped me to accomplish my certification successfully.

The next practice is incorporating a positive mindset into our daily life . This means entertaining positive thoughts as much as possible even in the worst circumstances. For example -One of my hobbies is singing .I had recently registered for a cultural event in a community centre. Just 2 days before the performance,I received a call from the organizing committee saying that they will not be able to accommodate my performance.I listened to the person without judgement and responded with a Thank You. However I remained positive believing that it happened for a good reason and that a brighter opportunity is waiting for me. This positive thought brought in a surprise 2 days later as an invite from a different organization requesting me to perform for their inaugration event.I felt very happy and delivered my vocal performance which was highly recognized and appreciated than how I imagined.

The next practice is Mindfulness. Mindfulness is an act of living in the present moment. This means being mindful of every moment in your life paying complete attention and not getting caught up in your past or future. Mindfulness can be practised anytime and anywhere. I have found mindfulness helps me stay focussed on my present moment and utilize it by being focussed completely on the activity at hand. This activity not only helps to train our mind to improve our focus but also helps us to observe and respond to situations around us rather than reacting spontaneously. I practise it everyday in my life and have seen profound benefits of protecting myself from negative experiences 90% of the time . For example - I apply mindfulness strategies during my communications with my family members and co-workers. This has helped me to construct responses appropriately depending on the situation without getting into a conflict . The way I have implemented this into my life is by being present and focusing on myself today and looking at each person I interact with as they are now without bringing in past or judgements . This has allowed me to look at people and situations with gratitude.

By developing and inculcating these powerful practices into our daily life, we can develop a mental hygiene that develops our internal environment and prevents the external environment from affecting us.

“When there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can do you no harm.” - Winston Churchill

Recreating a New Life

How can we make our new year a magical and memorable one in our life?

New Year brings new hope, new ambitions, new joy and new dreams in all our minds.

Time is a precious asset that once lost is gone forever. It brings opportunities to us so that we can take action and make our lives beautiful.

We can make money but we can’t make time. Time once lost is lost forever. It becomes a memory in our lives that cannot be accessed or controlled by us anymore.

The only time that we all have in our hands is NOW.

Now, as we embark on a new journey into the new year with 365 days in our life.

What is it that is in our control that can be transformed this new year?

Most of us think twice before spending our money on expensive things. Using a similar mindset on the value of time can help us use it more consciously in our lives.

Today, I am going to share with you 3 main areas of our life that, when given time, can lead us eventually to a peaceful and happy life.

The 3 Main Areas are

Personal Development,
Physical and Mental Health,
Relationships with family and friends

Personal Development includes investing time to learn and grow to develop a positive mindset that will make one capable of facing challenges/obstacles and rise above the limitations of our own mind. For example - Incorporating personal development time that includes learning , upgrading and growing using available resources and connecting with my Mentors and Coaches has helped me reprogram myself and develop a positive mindset to achieve my dreams in my life.

Health includes Physical and Mental health. Investing time to exercise, eat healthy food along with establishing good mental health hygiene is very critical during this time for keeping us strong and recharged everyday. For example - Incorporating health care investment time into my schedule through regular exercise, healthy diet and meditation has helped me prepare myself for the day with renewed energy inorder to make it more productive.

Maintaining Healthy Relationships are vital to our life and can impact the environment that we live in everyday. So investing time for our family and friends is highly beneficial to maintain a healthy environment and also gives us the opportunity to destress ourselves from our busy lives. For example - Incorporating family time through spending outdoors, learning and playing together has made me feel more grateful and blessed in my life.

Using our time effectively in these areas can reap numerous benefits back to us and enable us to grow and prosper enormously.

So, let’s welcome the New Year to reprogram ourselves, recreate a new future, realize our true potential and live our best life in 2022.

If you have a dream that you had postponed all these years,
Do it now

If you had a wish that you were not able to fulfill,
Do it now

If you wanted to make a change in your life,
Do it now

If you wanted to achieve a goal in your life,
Do it now

If you wanted to create something in your life,
Do it now

If you wanted to fix something in your life,
Do it now**

Time and Tide Waits for None . Whether we use it or waste it is in our own hands.

True Gifts of Life

Merry Christmas and Happy New year Everyone 😊

Did you know money is the greatest cause of stress in the current world?

It is Celebration time and we are all geared up to exchange gifts that we have been purchasing and collecting to share with our dear and near ones.

Celebrations are wonderful opportunities to connect, share and express our love, happiness and togetherness with everyone around us.

As many of us have been chasing to find the best gifts for our closed ones. I would like to take a moment to share about money and remind you of all the gifts that we can offer during this celebration time, even if we don’t have money.

Money is a medium of exchange that allows people to obtain what we need to live. We do need money to satisfy our basic necessities which includes food, clothing, shelter, education, transportation and sustenance in this world. However, even after fulfilling our basic needs, we still keep chasing money to give us more in our daily life .

From very early years , society has ingrained in us that being successful means being rich and powerful. So, we blindly followed the same and started believing that money has the power to satisfy all the desires of our mind. We run behind objects of our desire, keep accumulating more and think that we can satisfy all our desires and feel contented. However, this never ends as we would end up in a vicious circle where our desire shifts to a different object as soon as we attain the object of our desire .This cycle continues forever.

So, even though externally we have been accumulating more and more, internally we are never satisfied. The culprit behind this desire is our own temptation to possess more than what we actually need in our life. Our own temptations take away our peace and happiness and make us run behind objects one after the other. This way our life goes on, chasing the unknown , forgetting our own physical/mental health and the value of human relationships.

True wealth cannot be purchased with money and that includes valuable gifts of time, peace, happiness, health, love, family and relationships ,character, purpose, trust, humility, wisdom and much more. Even if we have all the money in the world and don’t have one of these then our life will be empty and dry.

So, my dear friends this festive season let’s take some time to reflect on our true wealth and share these valuable gifts with people around us by

  • Spending time and energy with our loved ones.

  • Celebrating the good health of our family members by telling them that they matter in your life.

  • Celebrating relationships in our life by expressing your love and offering help to them in whatever way we can.

  • Celebrating ourselves and our achievements by rewarding yourself with self care and self love.

  • Expressing our gratitude by thanking someone who has helped you to survive, learn, grow and succeed which includes your parents, teachers, mentors and coaches.

  • Donating whatever we have in excess as food/clothing/money to someone who is struggling to survive and make a living.

  • Expressing our apologies to someone whom we have ignored, insulted or hurt intentionally/ unintentionally .**

In the end, only 3 things matter :how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you -** Buddha**

3 Easy Steps to improve communication in relationships

Most of us obey traffic rules when we are on the road to prevent accidents with other vehicles .However, how often do we follow rules of communication to avoid verbal accidents in our workplace or homes?

Each of us in this world are unique and have a unique path in our life. We are all travelling to different destinations. What will happen, when we don’t pay attention to our own thoughts which are the signals from the outside world, ignore them and move on. We end up in a collision. We all go through good and bad thoughts in our everyday life. It’s only when we become aware of our thoughts as we would at a traffic signal that we will be able to act consciously without causing harm to us or others around us.

Words are tools that are provided to us in the world to communicate with other fellow beings. Words originate from our thoughts and carry emotions . Thoughts carry energy and this energy gets transferred into our emotions and words. When we think negatively, we create negative energy. However, we pay very less attention to the words that we use in our conversation especially at home or workplace. Why do we have to pay attention to our own words?

Each word that we put out into the world are expressions of our own self . Sometimes we unconsciously throw out negative words to another person thinking it would hurt them or harm them. However, as we all have heard according to Newton’s third law, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. So every negative thought that is transmitted out to someone actually harms us and not the other person . Let’s take an example of us getting angry and shouting at someone using rude words. Based on the emotional intelligence of the other person listening to us they may feel upset or not. However, the rude/bad words that originate from us have the negative emotion of “Anger” which produces toxic chemicals in our body and then transmits toxicity to every organ in our body thereby creating negativity within us. This eventually leads to severe physical illness and can result in chronic diseases.

Having understood this connection, what can we do?

Today I am going to share with you a simple technique that would help you respond rather than react to situations. There are 3 stages in this technique

The first stage is called Preparation

Preparation - This stage involves preparing your mindset during the communication process. The steps in the preparation process are

  • Stop - In this step, take a moment to stop judgement and reaction .You can use any kind of reminders that will help you to stop before you say anything out.

  • Pause - Pause for a moment by imagining you are stepping back one step using breathing or counting exercise.

Next stage is called Planning

Planning - In this stage, imagine you are wearing your thinking hat and ask questions to yourself using the below questions

  • Who am I talking to?

  • What is the final outcome that I am looking for from this conversation?

  • Where am I talking?

  • Is this the best time for me to talk ?

  • Why do I think I need to talk ? Will it help the final outcome ?

Last Stage is Execution

Execution - In the execution stage, use the answers from planning to craft a message that is intended to be communicated in the most suitable manner towards the other party/parties involved in the communication process.

Please note as with any skill, mastering this technique requires practice. There will be many times you might fail but the idea is to never give up and keep practising until it becomes an automatic muscle that works in favour of you .

We cannot prevent all the negativity that is happening around us .However, if we are conscious about our thoughts, words and actions, we can absolutely prevent creating negativity and ultimately destroying ourselves.

“You can’t change how people treat you or what they say about you. All you can do is change how you react to it.” - Mahatma Gandhi

A Letter of Gratitude

Nobody Succeeds here Alone !!

It brings me joy and tears as I write about my dearest Mom who brought me into this world. I am what I am because of her. I know the pain she took to bring me up all by herself even in the most challenging situations. I am very blessed and grateful to have her in my life.

I grew up, seeing her as my mentor and role model. She stood with me as a strong pillar and believed in me even when I cried silently. She gave me the strength to withstand blows of life with courage and wisdom. As my best friend and guide, she helped me navigate my life as a warrior. Her wisdom helped me understand that spirituality is not being religious but living a truthful life without running away from your own duties. She moulded integrity into my character to remain unshaken even if the sand under my feet drains away. She showed the light to different paths in my life and gave me the freedom to explore, take risks, venture my passions and embark my journey to helping women rise from pain and discover their authentic self.

Today, i am miles away from her . I am unable to help her physically but I am feeling blessed that I am able to guide her through her life’s challenges as her life coach.

Words will not be enough to praise her greatness and sacrifices she made to save this light for the world. I thank you from my deepest heart for being with me as my biggest support throughout the journey of my life filled with thorns, bushes, roses and rocks.

With your permission, let me share your kind words to the world -

Never had I thought that such a coaching session would change my inner attitude to such an extent. But after, only much later did I begin to notice the changes within me. First thing, I began to have a good opinion about myself which increased my positive attitude. Whenever negative thoughts and emotions came to my mind, I could observe them like a surgeon observing his/ her patient. I could forgive myself for silly behavioural mistakes that I made. I stopped blaming others also. I could feel that I was perfectly in the place in which I should be. I began to feel contentment and happiness which didn't depend upon any external objects or persons. My attitude towards others also changed. In fact there's no other, only our own reflections in so many mirrors!” - Mrs M.Girija

My Walk of Life

**The pain you feel today is the strength you feel tomorrow
For every challenge encountered, there is an opportunity for growth
Often it is the deepest pain that empowers you to grow into your highest self.
**
Little did I know when I grew up, that I was born for a purpose. This might sound strange but now when I look back at the curved, narrow and long paths that I had to walk, I understand there was a greater purpose-designed for me.

Today I'm going to share with all of you, the journey of an introverted girl who arose from the pain and discovered her purpose in life.

Peace was a rare commodity growing up in a family where domestic violence was a ritual. The only wealthy assets that I had during that time were my values of perseverance, determination, belief in God , support from my teachers and a few close family members. Every time I faced a hard blow, I asked myself “Why me”?
I did not have any choice to run away from the pain but to face it. I considered myself as an unlucky girl for having denied a peaceful family life because society had a different and contrasting view about it.

Little did I know when I grew up that the unhealed pain would manifest as acute cervical spondylosis, anxiety and depression. I sought medical support to fix my physical pain. However, that did not heal my mental pain completely. So, I decided to take a different approach to find the solution by reaching out to spiritual masters, books, podcasts and more. I started incorporating mindfullness into my life through spiritual practices that gradually trained my mind. I also pursued my passions in Music and Sanskrit to help me progress forward in my mind control journey.

Eventually, I started sharing my knowledge with people around me and noticed my mind expand. Love, empathy and compassion started developing within me which made me deeply reflect on my purpose in life. The urge to discover my purpose grew and I went into a deep reflection for more than 3 months in search of the answer. One day, the answer dawned on me through the words of my coach.

I discovered my life’s purpose as Coaching. This embarked on my new journey to become an Emotional Wellness and Transformation coach. A journey that empowers women to rise above stress, anxiety, depression and find clarity, focus, confidence and restore harmonious relationships in their life.

Today I feel very proud and grateful to be able to help women discover their authentic selves and establish a peaceful family. I now look back into my life and bow down before all the loving people and situations that have worked in favour of me to create this beautiful destiny.

Next time, when you face pain don't run away from it as it would have the hidden secrets to your new journey in life.

Pain brings suffering, but if you accept it, it becomes the fuel to discover your purpose in life.
