People of God how are you?

There are some among us who heard the gospel and truly want to repent and follow the Lord

Jesus but they keep putting it off for another day.

There are many reasons why people want to delay. They may have commitments.

They may be afraid of the lifestyle changes required once they turn to God or they are afraid of being judged once they turn to God.

The word of God however clearly tells us:

Hebrews 3:7

NLT: _That is why the Holy Spirit says, “Today you must listen to his voice._

_Don’t harden your hearts against him as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested God’s patience in the wilderness._

When we hear the word of God some tend to be too clever for nothing and they harden their hearts by reasoning too much.

Some have had tough experiences in their lives like a tough childhood and so they harden their hearts.

Others see so much chaos in the world and struggle to believe in a loving God.

There are others who would have been initiated one way or the other into the occult and so they end up hardened against God.

Whatever the reason, the word of God clearly tells us that people can deliberately harden their hearts against God.

I want to appeal to you dear brothers and sisters, please do not harden your hearts against God.

If you were procrastinating your conversion I urge you to consider turning to God today.

How are you people of God? I hope I find you well today.

One of my favorite scriptures is

1 Peter 2:9 which says

NLT: But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people.

You are a kingdom of priests, God’s holy nation, his very own possession.

This is so you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Being a chosen people means we were favored and specially selected to he representatives of Christ.

A lot of times people think they are the ones who chose Christ when they turned to the faith.

It is therefore baffling when the same people are told that it is in fact Christ who chose them.

The other thing that stands out is that we are a kingdom of priests. Priests offer sacrifices for the atonement of sins.

They are supposed to live holier lives than the people they represent.

Imagine it is not just your pastor anymore who needs to do this.

Even you. God expects you to make intercession for the church raising them in prayer unto Him. Standing on the gap. There are no back benchers in the house of God.

We are God’s holy nation.

A lot of people have endeavored to describe what an utopia looks like but the Bible does a better job at it.

It is a whole nation of holy people. People who hate sin and fear God. What an amazing existence!!

We even called God’s own possession. Now God is called many things in the Bible The Good shepherd.

A man of war. Prince of Peace. Wonderful Counselor and Mighty Father. And He personally calls us His very own possession. He loves us with an “everlasting Love”

But why are we so special? So that we can show His Goodness to the whole world. This goes past simply declaring that God is good. Our entire existence should “show” his goodness.

How we speak, what we eat, how we treat others, where we stay. The sumtotal of our lives should show forth His Goodness.

Understand who you are today and show forth the goodness of God

People of God how are you?

Success now comes spontaneously to the lives of many people. I am always amazed by stories of how people made it in life.

Some succeed through the old fashioned hardwork, others through vital connections but there is always somebody else who is not open to share their success story.

In any case success comes to those who are motivated to go an extra mile, to sleep late nights and to put in extra time.

.

Either way the million dollar question therefore is; what motivates you to crave success?

Solomon concerns himself with this issue and he had some very interesting observations.

Take a look at this scripture;

Ecclesiastes 4:4

AKJV: Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbor. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.

NLT: Then I observed that most people are motivated to success by their envy of their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless, like chasing the wind.

NIV: And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another.

This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

Solomon says some people go out of the way to succeed in life out of envy for their neighbors.

They are always checking out which car the neighbors bought, where they are sending their kids to school and what type of clothes to they put on.

If the neighbors upgrade, they too must upgrade. Their lives are remote controlled by their envy.

They are never satisfied until they outcompete the next person.

I hope you and I are happy with who we are and what we have.

There is always a new iphone, pair of Jordans, car etcetera and we end up worn out trying to prove ourselves to people who may not even care about us.

Solomon concludes by saying all this is vanity. A chase after the wind.

Live your life for Christ, seek only to please your God.

Envy is not good for our spiritual walk with God.

Family and friends how are you today?

There are times where we go through trying times and we ask ourselves if God still cares.

We wonder if He is even concerned. Does He know we need Him?

When Lazarus dies Mary says the same thing to Jesus.

“If only you had come sooner, my brother wouldn’t have died.”

We want the kind of God who prevents bad times from befalling us.

The Bible says in

Isaiah 45:2

AKJV: I will go before you, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:

NLT: This is what the Lord says: “I will go before you, Cyrus, and level the mountains. I will smash down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.

NIV: I will go before you and will level the mountains ; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.

He is the kind of Father who goes ahead of you.

There is nothing called the future for God or the past.

Everything is ever present for Him. He already knows your future because He has been there before.

He already knew that Adam and Eve would fall to temptation and eat the forbidden fruit.

He already had a plan to rescue fallen man.

You only need to trust Him enough to surrender your life into His hands.

We try to control the outcome of our lives and to shape our future using our academic information and common sense.

We get frustrated when our resolutions for the year fail to materialize.

I want to assure you planning without Jesus is like failing to plan.

You need someone who has been there before to be assured of victory.

Trust Him and He will make all the crooked places right and level all the humps and bumps in your path.

Every time I preach from Luke 4:18, I emphasize on the issue of setting the captives free.

This is because every other Preacher stresses everything else.

Jesus made no mistake during his ministry, he balanced preaching, with healing the sick as well as teaching with casting out evil spirits.

Lets read from

Luke 4:18

AKJV: The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

NLT: “ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has appointed me to preach Good News to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the downtrodden will be freed from their oppressors,

NIV: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free.

Many churches and ministries deliberately omit the setting free of the oppressed.

Sometimes the problem we encounter is that the oppressed don’t even know they are oppressed.

Many people in church today have never been delivered, they have never been set free.

They rationalize many demonic activities that happen in their lives.

So many miscarriages, cancers, accidents, depressions and suicides take place in churches today because of demonic influences.

But we have Christians who are now “rational”, they do not believe anymore in the concept of demonic bondage, neither do they accept the ministration of angels.

We dismiss things that don’t make sense to us and non-existent.

We accept the existence of God only out of moral obligation but our very lives deny His power.

Unfortunately demons don’t care what we believe, question or object to.

They attack many among us and possess even those who lead us in church.

Some among us have been in bondage since birth but unless we accept that the chronic depression, recurrence of accidents, lunacy or miscarriages are the work of demons we continue to suffer at the “mercy” of evil spirits.

Believing in the existence of demons or denying it won’t prevent them from harming us. We can’t deliver ourselves through much debates and theological inquiry.

Jesus is the One who specifically came to set the captives free.

Today He continues to do His work through the body of believers.

Take a good look at your situation and circumstances.

Is it not time to admit that you are in bondage to porn, drugs, violence, hatred, chronic illnesses, unexplained misfortunes, sheer bad luck?

It is only when you let the Great Physician step into your situation that you will get any rest.

Demons are not scared of many hospital visits, witchdoctors, your great debateful mind or lecture notes from your Godless Professor. They fear only Jesus, the Name above all names.

People of God how are you?

When we sin we believe that we have erred on our own but we forget that sin actually glorify Satan just as works of faith and love also glorify our Lord Jesus Christ.

Can people sin willfully and on their own without being prompted by the devil.

Of course they can but today I am talking about those who sin under the prompting of the devil. Who no longer have full control of their mental faculties.

In the deliverance room we encounter people who are no longer in full control of their lives. They are held in bondage and forced to glorify the devil.

John talks about this kind of bondage and reveals that Jesus came to destroy it.

Lets look at the following scripture:

1 John 3:8

AKJV: He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning.

.

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

NLT: But when people keep on sinning, it shows they belong to the Devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy these works of the Devil.

NIV: The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

Sin is infact the devil’s work and Jesus was made manifest to destroy it. He did this through his sacrifice on Calvary.

The angel Gabriel tells Mary to name the boy Jesus for “he shall save his people.”

Deliverance is the noble work of saving people from the clutches of the devil.

There are people who are in so much bondage they don’t even know they need deliverance.

If you raise the subject to them they deny even the existence of God.

The devil can have his way with people to a point where demons build fortresses and defense walls against the word of God.

I have encountered some people in the deliverance room who are under so much bondage the devil owns their soul, their mind and their body.

Talking to them about God without first administering deliverance is impossible.

You think you are talking to them but it is the demon who now speaks on their behalf and curses God, denies the existence of Jesus and commits all sorts of acts of ungodliness in defiance to God’s holy laws.

Fear not for the word of God is sharper than any double edged sword.

One way or the other, it will pierce to the center of their souls and destroy the fortress of the devil.

There is hope yet for the captured soul.

Keep on sharing the word of God prayerfully and with love, it will tear down the enemy’s defenses and win back the captured soul.

Some churches never preach on deliverance, neither do they practice it at all.

They live in harmony with evil spirits at their local assemblies.

We are told about the sons of Sceva who had, had enough of it so they tried to cast out evil spirits using the name of Jesus whom Paul preaches.

You they did not know Jesus, but they heard about what happens when his name is called, demons manifested and were cast out.

The Acts 19:15

AKJV: And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?

NLT: But when they tried it on a man possessed by an evil spirit, the spirit replied, “I know Jesus, and I know Paul. But who are you?”

NIV: One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?”

The evil spirit realised that the sons of Sceva had no knowledge of Jesus, they thought the whole process was a joke.

The possessed man leapt upon them and beat them up.

Deliverance is not like the movies we watch on TV.

You don’t sprinkle holy water, say a few words in Latin and scare away the unclean spirits.

You need to be guided by the Holy Spirit through out the process.

Deliverance therefore is a product of your relationship with God.

If you have a troubled child, friend or relative who truly needs deliverance, don’t do try and error on them,

fast and pray and seek guidance from God.

It is only through the knowledge of the will of God that real deliverance takes place.

Deliverance depends entirely on the guidance of the Holy spirit. God sees every trick of the devil and He exposes it to the deliverance workers.

We were administering deliverance im Rugare one day and a lady we were praying for kept shaking her hand vigorously and crying.

Everyone wondered what it meant but Holy spirit revealed to me that the woman had been hexed as she gave free will offering in church.

Immediately I shared with my team and we broke that hex in Jesus name.

Paul in Phillipi met a girl who practiced divination, she told many people to listen to the Apostles because the knew the way of salvation.

Let’s read the story in: “Acts 16:18 the word of God says, AKJV: And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

GNT: She did this for many days, until Paul became so upset that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I order you to come out of her!” The spirit went out of her that very moment.

NLT: This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and spoke to the demon within her. “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her,” he said. And instantly it left her.”

Many people were probably shocked that Paul was upset with this girl after all she told people the truth, indeed they were showing people the way to salvation just as the girl claimed.

If anything she should hae been commended for advertising on behalf of Paul and his team.

What Paul understood however was that it was the devil talking and it irked him.

Many times people say nice stuff in general but you have to be concerned about the spirit influencing them to speak.

In many cases people who claim to be Atheist, Anti Christ or Luciferaean or generally against God or just religion in general also say some really nice things.

Such people can have great personalities and handle themselves better than some Christians but be more concerned about the spirit influencing them.

The only way you can properly diagnose the spirit influencing a person is if you are guided by the Holy Spirit.

I urge you therefore to pray for the Holy Spirit to give you discernment so that you do not fall for the enemy’s tricks.

Deliverance cannot take place without forgiveness.

As long as you are holding on to anger, bitterness and grudges you will not get your deliverance.

Peter asks Jesus about the number of times one should forgive.

The response he was given will shock you.

Matthew 18:21

AKJV: Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

NIV: Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”

In most cases we are the ones who would have been wronged and the offender refuses even to apologize

We are left hurt and in need of counseling. The offender refuses to acknowledge that they did us wrong.

So we hold on to our anger and bitterness. It’s a natural human reaction.

Jesus says in Matthew 18:22

AKJV: Jesus said to him, I say not to you, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

NIV: Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

That is a lot of times to forgive a person

In other words never stop forgiving.

People think forgiveness is done for the benefit of the offender who doesn’t get what was coming to him.

Rather it is done for the benefit of the Wronged party who learns to let go of offenses just as God forgave us.

If you refuse to forgive demons will cling on to you and the devil finds a reason to continue haunting your life.

We forgive for our own sakes. I urge therefore before going into the deliverance room to prayer the forgiveness prayer.

Let go of the ones who wronged you and ask the Holy Spirit to help you forgive.

There are certain people we do not lay hands upon, we teach them until they are delivered.

Jesus in many of His teachings talks about the power of the truth.

He says in John 8:32

AKJV: And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

NLT: And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

We sometimes do counseling sessions with couples that believe they are cursed.

After counseling them we discover that they are not cursed they need to change how they treat each other and let go of certain wrong misconceptions they had against each other.

Some people still hold on to certain lies from the Devil, they were told they are cursed by a powerful witch or there is an avenging spirit in their clan.

Some people were told they will not escape certain fates and they believed the devil’s lies.

The reality however is that once the devil’s lies have been exposed everything changes and they live a free and emancipated life.

The truth is that Jesus came to set us free from the devil’s lies, snares and deception.

We are no longer slaves to fear. For this reason Jesus was revealed that He may destroy the works of the devil

You no longer have to make sacrifices to the dead to appease them.

Certain dreams mean nothing you do not need to rush to a white garment prophet after having them.

There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus
