Human energy and its flow command the attention of many areas of supportive and complementary medicine. The word medicine as I use it includes all the current healing modalities such as Reiki, Tapping, acupuncture, magnet therapy, and yoga. A wide variety of devices for measuring your energy levels exist. They range in price; some costing over $1000 and others as little as $49. There are at least three ways you can test your energy field with little expense.
These three approaches are the pendulum, dowsing rod, and crystal. These are inexpensive compared to the electronic and digital devices currently on the market.
Like so many other things, the pendulum can be as fancy and expensive as you want. They can have gold, silver, aluminum, string, or leather chords. On one end there can be a knot, a bead, or a crystal. On the other end, depending on your choice, there can be crystals such as quartz, amethyst, topaz, or a tourmaline. The pendulum may also be in the shape of a pyramid. These are generally made of copper and have the gemstones for the seven chakras. The pendulum I most often use is obsidian carved in the shape of an arrowhead and wrapped in silver and connected to a silver chain with a Shungite ball at its end. Sometimes, I use the pyramid.
You can use a pendulum to assess your energy flow. First, you can hold the pendulum by its chain between two fingers and ask it if your energy flow is good, weak, or blocked. Here’s a tip: Always ask a question that can receive a yes or no answer. Second, you can lay flat on your back and hold the pendulum over your heart area. If it moves in a circle or forward and back your energy is good. If it doesn’t move, you have low energy or a possible energy blockage. As always, if you feel there is an issue consult your medical doctor.
The Dowsing Rod:
If you are a purest, the Dowsing Rod can be a forked branch from a Willow Tree, a Birch Tree, or a Witch Hazel Tree. However, if none of these are available to you, you can make one of your own from a metal coat hanger and a two-inch piece of a plastic straw. Cut off the bottom of the hanger; cut that into a five-inch piece, bend one end to a 45-degree angle, add the piece of straw to that. Follow the same procedure as suggested in the use of a pendulum. An advantage of a Dowsing Rod is that it provides a broader swath and encompasses the auric field that surrounds the body. Energy flow can vary depending on the time of day or night it is measured.
The use of crystals or as they are sometimes called, stones, is as old as humanity. A crystal is a fossilized mineral and many respond to energy or the lack of energy in humans as well as animals. You can physically feel the difference. Generally, any problem that arises is caused by a lack of experience and or patience in using crystals to determine energy flow. I suggest using clear quartz, Amethyst, or Selenite. Please note, do not wash the Selenite in water. It will dissolve. To clean it, use a damp cloth. Quartz and Amethyst can be rinsed in warm water. Take one of these in your dominant hand and slowly pass it over your head, neck, shoulders, arms, chest, abdomen, and legs. If the crystal feels slightly warm you have energy in that area. If not, energy flow is weak.
If you sense a weak energy flow, hold or place the crystal in that area for 60 seconds to help restore energy flow. Wait a few minutes and then do a recheck.
If you feel there is an energy drain, do not hesitate to consult your medical doctor.
